Tip 8: Moistorwetngers

(after sport, rain or exertion)

• Since water works as an insulator, the sensor will not be

able to capture any data

• Dry your nger (e.g. rub on clothing)

Tip 9: Main LED is blinking red/green

• There is either water or dirt on the sensor

• Clean the sensor sideward with your nger or a sof t cloth

Tip 10: Dry ngers (after gardening or construction

work, or due to low temperature)

• Such ngers may have different characteristics and

might therefore be harder to recognize

• Re-lubricate your nger by swiping it across your

forehead. Also, change the pressure of your nger when

Tip 7: Savingngerprints

• It is recommended to enroll one nger of each hand. This way you will always have a spare key in case of an injury.

Example (for CP IN or CP WM):

• It is recommended to compose a list of enrolled ngers

• Under certain circumstances individual users

might nd it hard to enroll their ngerprints

(e.g. little children, elderly people, etc.). To

improve performance it is recommended to enroll

the same nger multiple times. There are 99

memory slots available (e.g. enroll your right

index nger under the same user number from

position F1 to F5, and the second nger from pos-

ition F6 to F0).

• Fingerprints of little children can usually be enrolled from school age. Enrolling the same nger multiple times as described

above might help to enroll even younger children.

Tip 6: Finger swiping

• Only if you swipe correctly over the sensor, the system will work properly!

• Place your rst phalanx at in the nger swipe area and start to swipe until you reach the end of the nger swipe area.

Do not make any rotation movement away from the sensor. The phalanx must stay at in the swiping area until reaching

its end.

• Apply medium speed: not too fast, not too slow (about 1 second)

• Apply moderate pressure. Depending on the characteristics of your nger, the pressure has to be modied. Soft skin needs

less pressure, dry skin more.
