Tips and tricks
Tip 3: Mounting of the control panel
The control panel switches the lock and is used for programming. Therefore, it has to be mounted in a protected indoor
area, but must still be accessible for programming.
Tip 1: Positionofthemountedngerscanner
Make sure the nger scanner is freely accessible with the
right and the left hand
It is important to have enough moving space when
standing in front of the scanner
The use of ekey nger scanners is very easy. Should you experience any problems
nevertheless, please check below written recommendations:
WM (wall-mounted) 135 cm
OM (outlet-mounted) 155 cm recommended
(135 cm vertical*, 110 cm horizontal**)
IN (integra) 155 cm
Finger scanner types Minimum mounting height lower edge
* with in-wall frame OM stainless steel ** IMPORTANT: ensure an easy operability of the nger
Tip 2: Mountingheightofthengerscanner
The correct mounting height of the nger scanner is critical to facilitate a proper swiping technique
If the nger scanner is installed too low, you might end up swiping only your ngertip across the sensor providing too little
information to carry out a successful match
Required mounting heights:
Tip 4: The sensor
The swipe sensor is integrated into the nger swipe area.
For proper recognition, your full rst nger phalanx must be swiped all the way across this sensor.
Avoid any mechanical stresses (e.g. scratches with metal objects, etc.) on the sensor!
In case of dirt or water on the sensor, clean it sideward with a nger or a soft cloth.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or rough sponges for cleaning the sensor.
Tip 5: Finger selection
The best ngers for swiping tend to be either (1) middle, (2) index or
(3)ringngers
The thumb and the small nger shall not be used
Use a nger without any injuries or abrasions. The clearer you can see the nger lines, the better the recognition of a nger
will be.
If a particular nger does not work properly, try to enroll another one
Hard physical work may lead to abrasions on index, middle or ring ngers. As a right handed person, try using the small
or ring nger of your left hand and vice versa.
